Chris, We are in the process of getting the website updated to work with some of the changes that are coming down from the International. Initially you applied thru the International site to join a local chapter. They have moved that to the local level to handle the initial application. We are updating the site, and that is one of the areas we are still working out. We hope to have it up here shortly, keep checking the site, hope to have you onboard soon Brother.

Mike, A shirt and hat from the Jersey FOOLS is on it's way, as well a shirt from Squad Co. 2 in Kearny NJ. I want to ask any other members of the Jersey FOOLS or for that matter, any and all FOOLS to show your Brotherhood.

a request for a brother in need of some brotherhood
| |
Dear Colleagues & Friends, I have a personal favor to ask of each of you. As you may know, both of my brothers are retired NYC Firemen. What you may not know, is that they were both forced to retire due to injuries and illnesses they sustained while working at the World Trade Center on 9/11, and in the weeks and months that followed. My younger brother, Jim, has become very ill and I would like to do something to encourage him and lift his spirits a bit. There are two things that I have learned about firemen over the years: (1) they love their jobs; (2) they feel a special kinship for firemen across the country. My brothers have both marched in St. Patrick's Day parades in Chicago and Boston, and truly feel that they have brothers in firehouses across the country. So here is the favor I am asking of each of you. I would be deeply indebted to you if you could reach out and contact the firehouses in your communities and for a t-shirt or hat from that firehouse along with a card signed by the firemen in each firehouse and send them along to my brother. He is in the fight of his life, and I know that the most meaningful gift that he could receive would be the knowledge that his brothers in firehouses across the country were thinking of him. A t-shirt may seem like a simple silly gesture, but it is typically given by firemen only to those they deem worthy of wearing it. So it would carry very special meaning to my brother. My Brother, Jim Ryan, was in Ladder Company 167 of the FDNY in Queens, New York. His home address is Jim Ryan 173 Avenue B, Kings Park, NY 11754. I know you have many other things to worry about in your day to day jobs, so I appreciate you taking the time out of your hectic schedules to consider this request. Thank you. Appreciatively, Mike Michael P. Ryan, CFA Managing Director UBS Financial Services 1285 Avenue of the Americas New York, NY 10019 (212) 713-4671 mike.ryan@ubs.com
